What is GriefShare ?

GriefShare is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before.

GriefShare is a 13-week bible-centred ministry designed to hold your hand during your journey towards recovery and normalcy.

Elements of GriefShare..

Video Seminar :
Each week you will watch a video session (approximately 35 minutes in length) featuring top experts on grief and recovery. These videos are produced in an interesting TV magazine format with interviews, real-life case studies, dramatic reenactments, and on-location video. Without exceptions, all those featured are the followers of Jesus.

Focussed Discussion :
After viewing the video, you and the other group members will spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in your lives. However, you are free to just watch the video without taking part in the discussion.

Study and Reflection :
During the week you will have the opportunity to use your workbook (cost Rs 200) for further personal study of the scriptures and to help sort out your emotions through journaling. Your group will spend time discussing questions and comments from the workbook study.

When to join a GriefShare group..

You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each session is “stand-alone,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin.

It is the commitment of BBCF to be a fellow traveler with you, learning not to lean on each other but to renew our trust in our Lord and His scriptures for recovery and spiritual regeneration. We are also committed to provide a safe and friendly atmosphere wherein we respect and safeguard your space and privacy.

What GriefShare does not deal with...

We understand that there are other losses in life that create feelings of grief. You might be experiencing a job loss, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or the loss of friends because of a move. This grief is real, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions. We encourage you to ask a pastor, counselor, or church leader for help in finding resources that will be of specific help in your situation.

How to join GriefShare..

The GriefShare group meets after the morning worship service every Sunday, at 12:30 PM for an hour.
As this is a need based ministry, please contact the church office on 24611311, or any of the Pastors after the worship service, if you feel the need to attend.
